Zachary’s extraordinary wine list consists of over 550 different wines which are stored in the magnificent wine cellar adjacent to the Private Dining Room. All of these wines were carefully selected by Executive Chef Geoffrey Murray and Sommelier Werner Wentzel and include both imported and local wines.
Many of the South African wines on the list were selected from the cellars of the finest garagiste wine producers.
This superb, comprehensive list was recognised in 2007, 2008 and 2009 with an Award of Excellence from Diners Club International Winelist Awards, and in 2007 & 2008 by Wine Spectator, a major American wine and lifestyle magazine. In 2007 and 2008 it received a Diamond Award from Diners Club International Winelist Awards, the highest award given.

Zachary’s Wine Cellar is a small rectangular room which looks onto the Private Dining Room of Zachary’s Restaurant. With its floor to ceiling shelves of bottles, a skirting board of square wooden boxes, a glass library of empty bottles from spectacular wine properties and great vintages and books by international leaders in the field, the cellar is cosy and inviting and guests are welcome to visit it with one of the sommeliers to talk wine before their meal. The cellar houses more than 2,000 bottles with 480 labels, mostly South African estate wines but including a number of international labels.
